2024 Wall of Fame!

January - Thebes and Finn

Thebes (Sphinx) & Finn (Tabby) were 2024’s first subjects. Their mom was only going to bring Thebes in, due to Finn being of the shyer persuasion. I suggested “Bring him anyway, you never know! If he’s not happy, he can stay safely in his carrier.” and we got some wonderful portraits of both of them! It’s always worth a try!

February - Fuzzynuts & Furdinand Magellan

February was slow, and I was busy with other life and health things, so the only pets that came into the studio were MINE! Meet Fuzzy (orange) and Furdinand (gray). I wanted to test out some new lighting and these two were available, so i dragged them in for the day. They’ve been through the drill before.

March - Enzo

I met Enzo’s mom at Goldens in Golden - he might have some Golden in him, but he’s definitely a little darker than most Goldens! We split his session into half Legacy and half Epic! We took him over to Heritage Belmar park across the street for sunset and silhouette shots!

April - Barley

In April I was planning a Christmas in July event with Old 121 Brewhouse and needed some test shots for the marketing - so Katie brought in Barley, and I brought in Santa!

May - Danny

Isabella is Autistic, and with Danny - her service dog - by her side, she can do anything! Danny has given her a great gift, helping her through depression, and being with her to tackle the world. He has accompanied her to live on-campus at CU Boulder where she is studying Bio-chem.

June - Lois Lane

I visited Chicago this summer, and when I do I always offer portrait sessions to friends and family. When David and Marianne said YES! I was so excited! Way back in 2015 I photographed their engagement photos in the Fine Arts Building, and I also captured their handsome boy, Bru (Bruiser), at their Logan Square apartment. Bru was decked out for the occasion in a tie that showed off his speckled eyes! Now, they have Lois Lane, and a son, Jacques, and we all gathered on the lakefront for a family session on a sunny summer day.

July - Enzo and the Dock Dogs

Enzo (a different one than above!) was one of our winners in our annual Calendar Contest and helped raise over $7,000 for Soul Dog Rescue! (Buy a calendar here, while supplies last!) We did his portrait session at the pool, which has many opportunities for silly captures.

August - Charlie, Avogato, and Olive

Avogato (brown tabby) was originally scheduled to have an in-studio session, but she was not having it, not one bit. So we rescheduled and decided to try an in-home session instead. As soon as she saw me, she knew what was up, so I gave her some space. With a long lens we got some great photos of her relaxing in her backyard, far away from me. And her Aunt Olive happened to be there for a sleepover, and I wanted to make sure she felt included. A few days later, we took her brother, Charlie (Spaniel), to Mt Falcon for his portraits and got some fantastic action shots, as well! Family is family, and everyone deserves to have their portraits made!

September - Hades

Third time’s a charm! After postponing a 4-wheeling jaunt twice over the summer (once for weather and once for car troubles), we took our Jeep and met up with JD and Hades in their Jeep and rolled up to Old Geneva City. Hades enjoys attacking the trees from the back window as we rolled by. Check out JD’s 4-wheeling podcast here: www.thetrailheadnetwork.com and his IG feed: https://www.instagram.com/me_and_my_yellow_jk

October - Blue

Blue came in well-prepared for her Autumn photo session! She had practiced very hard at being in her ghost costume and holding her treat pumpkin. And she did her very best, especially with a new audience.

November - Maddie

Maddie was the most resilient pup you’ll ever meet, surviving cancer and living to be 15. Her person, Julie, came to me with a gift certificate she won at a fundraising auction benefitting The Fortitude Foundation. Julie adopted Maddie in 2013, and during our consultation call, she told me that Maddie was the life form that taught her how to love. Maddie passed away 2 months after our photo session.

December - Cheddar and Bones

Looking back, I’m seeing more dogs than cats, so allow me to remedy that!

Thank you to all the people and animals who made 2024 amazing!
